I have had the privilege of teaching a variety of different age groups in a variety of places. I received my Bachelor of Science in Elementary and Special Education from Liberty University. Soon after graduating, I moved to Bangladesh to teach at William Carey in Chittagong, Bangladesh. For two years, I taught 7th-12th grade, growing in my love of teaching and equipping students. During my time there, I also took on the role of Dean of Women. Upon returning to the United States, I got my 7th-12th English and Social Studies certification. I spent the last 10 years teaching AP English and various other English, History, and Speaking courses at a top-ranked public school in Pennsylvania. I also completed my M.A. and M.F.A. in Nonfiction Creative Writing during my tenure. I am excited and honored to be a part of the HPCA family.

I am a committed educator with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary and Kindergarten Education from Pennsylvania State University. My passion for education has been nurtured through a variety of roles over my career, providing me with a unique blend of experience. From serving as a daily and long-term substitute teacher for grades K-6 at Dallas Area School District and Lake Lehman Area School District, to working as a homebound instructor, student tutor, and autistic student aide, I've honed my skills in diverse educational settings. My most fulfilling role, however, has been as a homeschooling mom to my own children. Beyond the classroom, I've been an active member of the Fellowship Church in Dallas, Pennsylvania for over 33 years and, in 2020, undertook the role of Kids Church Coordinator. Leading a team of more than 75 volunteers to serve the needs of our church families and their children has been a rewarding experience. My core belief and mission is training children in the truth of God's word.

I'm a seasoned educator with diverse teaching experience, spanning public schools, preschools, and homeschooling. My professional journey began at Indiana University where I obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. I have had the privilege of nurturing young minds in multiple roles, including a 7th grade English teacher, a facilitator for 7th and 8th grade gifted classes, and an instructional assistant in a middle school. Currently, I hold certifications to teach middle level Science and Social Studies, English for grades seven through twelve, and also work as a Library-Media Specialist. Teaching is more than a career to me, it's a passion, a commitment to shaping future generations. I'm excited to be teaching at HPCA where I can continue making a meaningful impact.

I am a graduate of Baptist Bible College, where I earned a Bachelor's degree in Health and Physical Education. Following my graduation, I took up a teaching position at Grace Community School in California, where I spent a couple of enriching years before stepping away to focus on raising my family. Outside of my professional life, I am an avid outdoors enthusiast. I take great pleasure in activities such as hiking and canoeing, as well as playing sports with my four boys. My commitment to nurturing and education extends beyond the classroom, as evidenced by my involvement in various children's ministries at High Point Baptist Church over the years.

From an early age, the aspiration to become a teacher was unwavering. After earning a Bachelor of Science in Bible in 2011, I began working as a nanny, where I found opportunities to teach by assisting children with their schoolwork. This was followed by homeschooling my own four children, focusing on foundational academic and Biblical skills. More recently, I have been teaching an elective class at a homeschool co-op for six to eight-year-olds, incorporating creative activities such as cooking with themed books and exploring world geography. My goal is to deliver engaging and memorable lessons for students at High Point Classical Academy.

I graduated from Clarks Summit University with a bachelor’s degree in music education. My passion is music, I love playing it, listening to it and teaching it. During my student teaching, I learned a lot about classroom management, how to interact with students and lesson planning. One of my favorite things to do is teach students, regardless of the subject. I love helping students out, encouraging them and getting to know them. As a first year teacher, I dedicate myself to the students of High Point Classical Academy and am excited to grow this year.
